Tyler Hanus
From when he was a little kid, Tyler has always had a significant passion for the outdoors. It started with a bobber and nightcrawler, and that was the beginning of something truly special. In 2021, Tyler started fishing bass tournaments and ended up winning the TBF Ohio State Championship. He advanced to fish the Mississippi River for the TBF Junior World Championship in Illinois. This was only his second tournament he had ever fished, but you would never know looking at his performance. What may be the most impressive about this, is that Tyler pretty much self taught himself how to fish. He is constantly researching and watching youtube videos to learn new techniques and improve upon the ones he already knows.
This ambition also led to Tyler becoming a skilled fly fisherman for Trout and Bass. He spends hours tying his own flies and studying the fish he targets.
Last year, Tyler decided that he wanted to get into bow hunting. He knew that hunting was a difficult sport, especially with a bow, but this just made him want to pursue it even more. Tyler ended up buying himself a Hoyt bow and practiced all of the time. He really seemed to understand that you have to put the work in to be a good bowhunter. A year later this paid off for Tyler when he took his 150 inch target buck with his bow. He made a perfect lung shot after rattling the buck in.
Tyler says he owes his fishing success to his Grandpa for always taking him out to fish. They still go together all of the time and are inseperable.
At Sparrow Expeditions, we believe that people need to embrace the outdoors. This is especially important for today's youth and helps them in so many aspects of life. We offer many opportunities for people to get outside and have an experience they will never forget.
