Features & Tiers

One workshop. One loop. Always getting sharper.

You can find a place online that does sight tapes. Another that does some arrow math. A third for dynamic spine. A fourth for shaft browsing. Four browser tabs, four different formats, none of them talk to each other.

And at the end of the day, none of them made you better.

The Forge is everything an archer actually needs under one roof: build the arrow, tune the bow, log the practice, print the tape, score the broadhead for the game class, see why your dynamic spine is 30 units off from your static. One workflow. The build informs the tune. The tune informs the tape. The range data informs the next build.

Built on Kaizen — the Japanese principle of constant small improvements compounding over time. New tools ship constantly. Catalog stays verified. The version you sign up for today is not the version you'll be using in six months. You're not buying a snapshot; you're buying the curve. As I get better, this gets better, and in return everyone using it gets better.

Three tiers below. Every paid plan starts with a 7-day free trial (card required to enroll, $0 if you cancel in week one).

Arrow Builder Free

The heart of The Forge — a precision arrow assembler with every component in the catalog.

Pick your shaft (every Easton, Black Eagle, Victory, Gold Tip, K2, Altra, Carbon Express, Firenock — by brand, model, spine). Add a point. Add an insert or HIT collar. Pick a nock + vane + wrap. See live FOC, total weight, kinetic energy, momentum, balance point, ballistic coefficient, and stability calibers update with every change.

Why it matters: Most arrow shops eyeball your setup. A 12% FOC build and a 18% FOC build look identical in your quiver but fly completely differently past 40 yards. The builder calculates what the math actually is.

Arrow Recommender Free

Reverse-build: tell us your bow + goal, get the top 5 arrow setups.

Pick your bow (brand, model, year) + draw weight + draw length. Pick a priority: max speed, max penetration, balanced. Get five spec'd builds with their FOC, weight, spine, expected speed, and one-line reason each works for you.

Why it matters: Brand catalogs are huge and overlapping. "Which Easton 4mm spine for my 70lb Mathews ARC 30 with a 100gr point?" is a 30-minute research project. The recommender answers it in 5 seconds with the math behind it.

Component Database Free

Every shaft, point, insert, nock, vane in the catalog — searchable.

Multi-axis filter: by brand, by spine, by GPI, by OD, by ID class. Compare 4mm shafts across all 6 brands side-by-side. Find which inserts fit your shaft's ID. Browse Firenock CTI lengths. Spec out a build without committing to one.

Why it matters: Cross-reference an Iron Will Impact Collar against a K2 Wasatch shaft to confirm fit before buying $400 worth of components.

Range Log Free   Diagnose: Hunter+

Log every practice session. PBs. Streaks. Achievements. Auto-diagnose what to fix next.

Free tier: Log session (distance, arrows, group size, pattern). See your personal bests per distance. Track streaks (days in a row practiced). Earn achievements (first sub-2" 40-yard group, 100 arrows logged, 30-day streak, etc.). Full session history table.

Hunter / Competition / Pro: Auto-diagnose engine reads your group pattern + trend and surfaces a specific tuning fix — with a button that deep-links you straight into the relevant Tune wizard step. Examples: "Stringing LEFT → check grip torque, then cam pre-lean." "Vertical string → spine consistency or rest contact." "40% wider than your PB at 60yd → cables stretched, run a paper-tune check."

Why it matters: Every range session becomes diagnostic, not just practice. Patterns that take a coach an hour to identify, the engine flags in 5 seconds and points you at the fix.

Bow Tuning Wizard Hunter+

The 12-step pro tune — grip, cam, paper, bareshaft, nock tuning, broadhead. The same sequence I run on the bench.

Step-by-step walkthrough with manufacturer-verified specs for 100+ bow models (2022-2026 flagships): Mathews ARC, Hoyt AX-3 / Carbon RX-10, Bowtech Alliance, Elite Verdict, Prime Form, PSE Sicario, and target lineups (TITLE, Concept X, Patriot).

Pre-flight → Bow Grip (Dudley method) → Cam Pre-Lean / Timing / Sync → Tiller → Center Shot → Nocking + D-Loop → Rest Type Branch (limb-driven OR cable-driven) → Paper → Bareshaft → Nock Tuning (the indexing step most archers skip) → Walk-Back → Broadhead Group. Three reference cheat sheets (adjustment matrix, point-of-impact tuning, paper tear quick reference) available from any step.

Why it matters: A pro-shop tune runs $80-150. Doing it yourself with the right sequence + spec data costs you nothing and you learn what your bow is actually doing. Pays for the subscription in one tune.

Dynamic Spine Calculator Hunter+

See how length + point weight + nock weight shift your effective spine in real time.

Inputs: static spine, arrow length, point + insert + nock + vane weights, bow type, cam aggression. Outputs: dynamic spine + per-factor breakdown + verdict against Easton's published chart for your bow setup. What-if scenarios show the impact of common changes (+25gr point, lighted nock, ½" shorter cut).

Why it matters: Static spine on the shaft doesn't tell you how the arrow actually flexes under bow energy. Dynamic spine does. Compete-level competitor to Stu Miller's calculator and Pinwheel's spine engine, with our chart integration.

Broadhead Confidence Score Free

Score your build against game-class penetration thresholds in real time.

Eight game classes from turkey to cape buffalo. Color-coded confidence band per animal (HIGH / ADEQUATE / MARGINAL / INSUFFICIENT) based on KE + momentum + FOC + broadhead geometry at your chosen distance. Calibrated against Easton minimums, Ashby penetration work, and the 2025 Yates broadhead study.

Why it matters: Stops the "is this enough arrow for X" guesswork. See the answer the moment you change a component.

Compete Module Hunter+

Competition picker, NTS coach mode, equipment compliance checker.

Pick your competition org (USA Archery / JOAD, World Archery, NFAA, NASP, S3DA, IBO, ASA, Redding, TAC). See division rules: max arrow speed, shaft OD, sight constraints, release type, stabilizer length, rangefinder allowed.

NTS Coach Mode: Coach Kisik Lee's 11-step shooting form (stance → nocking → hook/grip → set → set-up → drawing → anchor → transfer → aim/expansion → release/follow-through → relaxation) with biomechanical detail + common faults + quick-cue panel for the practice line.

Equipment Compliance Checker: enter your setup, get a yes/no per division so you don't show up at Vegas with an illegal stabilizer.

Why it matters: JOAD coaches manage 10-30 archers. This is the line-side reference that scales.

Sight Tape Printer Pro

Precision sight tapes from YOUR chrono numbers — not spec-sheet estimates.

Enter your bow setup, peep height, sight radius, your real chronograph readings (single or dual-distance), atmospheric conditions at the chrono (DA), and your sight-in distance. Out comes a sight tape ready to cut + apply.

  • Every major sight in the catalog (Bowfinger 1 Sight V2, Shrewd Optum / Nomad, Axcel Achieve, Shibuya Ultima CPX-III, Spot-Hogg Tommy Hogg, CBE Vertex / TEK, HHA Tetra, Ultraview UV3, Sword, Sure-Loc, and more)
  • Hybrid tick spacing, 200yd range support, customizable tick weight + line width + label position
  • Direct-print mode with @page CSS for proper label-printer sizing
  • Three-copy layout per page
  • Atmospheric corrections — print one tape for your home range, another for the high-DA hunt zone
  • Express Tape mode: skip the setup, generate from peep + radius + chrono in 30 seconds
Why it matters: A spec-sheet sight tape will be off at distance because your bow is not the IBO test rig. A tape built from YOUR chronograph numbers + YOUR atmosphere puts the pin where the arrow actually goes.

Shot Solver Pro

Field shot calculator — angle, wind, DA, hold-over.

Enter the shot you're about to take: distance, angle (up/down a canyon), wind direction + speed, current density altitude. The solver outputs your correct pin / hold + wind drift in inches at impact.

Visual wind drift overlay shows trajectory deflection in real time as you change inputs.

Why it matters: 60-yard shot at 15° angle in 8mph crosswind at 8,500 ft DA — your sight tape doesn't account for that. The solver does.

Build A/B Compare Pro

Two arrow builds side-by-side. Decide which is actually better.

Pick any two saved builds. See FOC, total weight, KE, momentum, BC, stability, and per-distance trajectory tables side by side. Make the case for the change before you commit $300 worth of components.

Angle Cut Chart Export Pro

Printable cut chart per setup for hunt-from-tree shots.

One-page reference of corrected horizontal distance per actual distance + angle, scaled to your setup's ballistics. Print it, laminate it, slip it in your bino harness.

Comprehensive Shaft Selector Pro

Multi-axis filter across every shaft in the catalog. Sortable, comparable, exportable.

Filter by GPI range, OD range, spine availability, brand family. Sort by any column. Export the comparison as a CSV. The power-user view for archers who want every shaft option in one screen.

Tuning History & Drift Detection Hunter+

Every tune session is saved. Spot drift over time before it bites you.

Log full tuning sessions (cam timing, tiller, paper, bareshaft results). Track measurements per session. Get a notification when your measurements drift past your tolerance (strings stretch ~50 arrows in; cables stretch over months).

Common questions

What's actually different between Hunter and Competition?
Nothing functionally. Same $6/mo, same features, same access. Two products exist so you can pick the brand that matches how you shoot. If you hunt, pick Hunter. If you compete (3D, indoor, target, JOAD), pick Competition. The tool inside is identical.
What does Pro give me that Hunter doesn't?
The sight tape printer (precision tapes from your real chrono numbers), the field shot solver (angle / wind / DA / hold-over), the side-by-side build comparator, angle cut chart export, and the comprehensive shaft selector. Pro is for archers who live in the precision math — target shooters dialing in for tournaments, hunters pushing distance, anyone who treats their setup as a system to optimize.
Why pay for this when there are free calculators online?
Free calculators give you one number. The Forge gives you the full system: the math, the catalog of every real component on the market, the tuning sequence to make the numbers translate to the target, and a log that connects today's shot to last month's. The difference is the difference between knowing your FOC and actually shooting tighter groups.
Does the subscription keep getting more features?
Yes. The Kaizen model means improvements ship constantly, not in big v2.0 jumps. New tools, deeper catalog, more bow models, better math — all included at your tier for as long as you're a subscriber. You're buying the curve, not a snapshot.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes — from your account page. If you cancel mid-month, you keep access through the end of the billing period you've paid for. Then you drop to Free and keep your saved builds + range log.
If I'm on Free, do I lose my data?
Never. Your saved builds, range log, PBs, and achievements all stay yours regardless of tier. Subscribing unlocks more tools; cancelling locks them again. Your data is yours.
What if a feature gets added later?
Pro gets everything new at no extra charge for as long as your subscription is active. Hunter gets new Hunter-tier features. Free gets new free-tier features. We don't introduce new mid-tiers to upsell existing subscribers.
