The bow in 30 seconds
Hoyt's 2026 Alpha AX-3 is the new aluminum-riser flagship at $1499 — the more accessible pick vs the $2149 Carbon RX-10. The new XTS Tuning System is a limb-based tuner that corrects up to 1" of paper tear without a bow press. Available in four configurations: AX-3 29, AX-3 33, AX-3 33 LD (long draw), AX-3 SD (short draw).
| Typical draw weight | 60-70 lb |

Spine guidance
AX-3 tunes well with 340 for 60-65lb, 300 for 65lb+ at 29"+ draw. The XTS tuner makes minor spine mismatches more forgiving than older Hoyt platforms.

Using the standard ATA / IBO velocity formula, a 420gr arrow at the Hoyt Alpha AX-3's 342 fps IBO should chrono around 260 fps off your bow. Real-world velocity will vary by ±5 fps depending on string condition, peep + d-loop weight, and tune state.
Common tune issues on the Hoyt Alpha AX-3
Over-spined arrow. The biggest issue with the Hoyt Alpha AX-3 is shooters going to 300 spine when 340 is correct, then seeing tail-high tears that take forever to chase. Start with manufacturer spine chart, validate with the builder.
Wrong sight radius. If you're using a slider sight, the sight radius from peep to pin housing affects every yard mark on the tape. The Sparrow sight tape generator (Pro) needs this accurate to the 1/8".
